Costa Rica 2023 Manuel Antonio National Park

Sunset from El Lagarto, at our final supper in Quepos.

One of the reasons for renting the house in Quepos was proximity to Manuel Antonio National Park. I had been wanting to see it, and had missed it on our last stay. We took a short guided tour through this small, newer national park. The guide was very valuable, because we would not have spotted many of the animals without his help. He was also adept at taking pictures with our mobile phones through his spotter’s scope.

Mid-tour, we waded in to an amazingly beautiful and uncrowded beach.

The elusive sloth

After a little shopping at the street market just outside the park, we stopped for lunch at El Avión, a restaurant in an airplane. The plant-based burger was much better than expected, and came with potato fries and cauliflower fries.

We made one more stop before returning to headquarters, for a beer run. I found a pretty good local craft porter. Pool time!
